Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to Boost Air Travel with 42 Weekly Flights on Key Routes

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have agreed to significantly increase the number of scheduled flights between the two countries following talks held during the Central Asia–China (C5+1) Civil Aviation Cooperation Conference.
More Frequent Services on Major Routes
Under the agreement, designated airlines from both sides will be permitted to operate up to 42 weekly flights on the Almaty–Tashkent and Astana–Tashkent routes. Other routes will be expanded to allow up to 14 weekly services. The two sides also agreed to broaden the number of destinations eligible for scheduled flights between the countries.
Officials said the move is intended to improve transport connectivity, strengthen business and cultural relations, and enhance the tourism potential of both states.
New Routes Already Introduced
Civil aviation cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan has been growing. On July 3, 2025, Uzbekistan’s airline My Freighter (Centrum Air) began operating twice-weekly flights between Aktau and Nukus. On July 15, Kazakhstan’s Fly Arystan launched three weekly services on the Atyrau–Tashkent route.
Both delegations confirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and pursue joint initiatives aimed at further developing air travel and fostering broader cooperation in civil aviation.
Kursiv also reports that Uzbekistan and Hong Kong (China) are working on plans to introduce direct cargo and passenger flights.
