Uzbekistan will experience noticeably cooler weather on Saturday, August 17, with daytime temperatures ranging between 27°C and 32°C. Conditions will remain dry across much of the country, though winds of 7–12 m/s are forecast, with occasional gusts reaching 13–18 m/s accompanied by dusty patches.

In the capital, the weather will stay dry under partly clear skies. Winds will blow at 5–10 m/s, while daytime highs are expected to hover between 30°C and 32°C.

By contrast, mountain districts could face brief showers and thunderstorms during the day. Winds in these areas are also forecast at 7–12 m/s, with local strengthening up to 13–18 m/s. Temperatures will remain mild, ranging from 19°C to 24°C.

Air Quality in the Capital

Monitoring stations in Tashkent reported the following levels at 09:00 on August 17:

  • Fine particulate matter (PM10) measured 101.75 µg/m³, well below the permissible limit of 500 µg/m³
  • PM2.5 particles registered 23.39 µg/m³, staying under the limit of 35 µg/m³
  • Carbon monoxide (CO) levels, largely linked to traffic and industry, reached 0.33 mg/m³, below the maximum threshold of 5 mg/m³

The pollutant data are assessed against the standards of SanPiN 0053-23, which was updated in May 2024 to refine regulations for PM2.5 concentrations.

Kursiv also reports that starting this week weather in Uzbekistan started to cool down.
