Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, DC and the LEGO Group have officially announced LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a brand-new action-adventure game that promises to reimagine the journey of Gotham’s hero. Drawing on more than eight decades of Batman films, television, comics and games, the title combines iconic storytelling with TT Games’ trademark LEGO wit.

«We are thrilled to reveal LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a fantastic experience designed to appeal to all types of players,» said JB Perrette, President and CEO of Streaming & Games at Warner Bros. Discovery.

«Our talented team at TT Games is delivering a fresh perspective on Batman, with new and enhanced features that go beyond previous LEGO titles.»

Fredrik Löving, Senior Vice President and Global Head of GAME at the LEGO Group, added:

«Fans will instantly connect with this version of Batman. It delivers Gotham’s atmosphere and intensity with the light-hearted fun of LEGO, making it a brilliant experience for all generations.»

Story, Characters and Villains

The game begins with Bruce Wayne’s early training under the League of Shadows before players set out on a narrative-driven campaign. Along the way, allies such as Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman and Talia al Ghul join forces to battle Gotham’s most notorious villains. The rogues’ line-up includes The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul and Bane among many others.

Combat has been completely reworked, with fluid attack chains, counters and cinematic takedowns capturing Batman’s distinctive fighting style. Players can battle solo or team up in two-player local co-op, using gadgets like Batarangs and the Batclaw. Partner characters bring their own tools, from Robin’s line launcher to Catwoman’s whip. For those seeking a challenge, the game introduces enhanced «Caped Crusader» and «Dark Knight» difficulty modes.

Jonathan Smith, Strategic Director and Head of the Development Team at TT Games, added:

«This game is a real celebration of everything Batman. We take players on Bruce Wayne’s transformation into Gotham’s legendary protector, blending iconic moments with our LEGO twist. Our new crime-fighting combat system pushes LEGO gameplay to an entirely new level.»

DC’s President, Publisher and Chief Creative Officer, Jim Lee, highlighted the depth of the project:

«Batman has always evolved, shifting from the Dark Knight to detective to the father of the Batfamily, while remaining timeless. This game reflects every aspect of that legacy. TT Games have crafted a love letter to Batman, full of creativity and respect.»

Gotham in LEGO Form

Set in an open-world LEGO Gotham City, the game invites players to fight crime, solve puzzles, collect rewards and explore a city filled with secrets. Movement is dynamic, with the ability to grapple, glide or drive across the city using gadgets, Batmobiles and Batcycles.

The Batcave serves as a hub, fully customisable with trophies, vehicles, suits and collectibles. An extensive wardrobe of Batsuits inspired by Batman’s history is also available, allowing players to tailor their hero’s look throughout the adventure.
