V, one of the stars of global K-pop phenomenon BTS, thrilled fans on August 25 night as he threw the ceremonial first pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers game. His appearance came shortly after a warm meeting with baseball’s two-way icon Shohei Ohtani.
Taking the mound in a Dodgers No. 7 jersey tucked into faded jeans, the singer, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, bowed towards pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto before sending a neat left-handed strike into his glove. The stadium erupted as fans screamed throughout his turn on the field.
V kept the crowd buzzing by delivering the traditional call of «It’s time for Dodger baseball!» in English. He then took time to greet the children who traditionally run across the field to collect player autographs before the first pitch.

Inside the dugout, V shared a brief hug with Ohtani before the game against Cincinnati. He also chatted with pitcher Tyler Glasnow as a cluster of photographers captured the moment. Fans roared again when he entered the dugout, and he responded with a cheerful wave.
The singer later returned to the field to throw left-handed warmup pitches, while thousands of camera phones lit up around the stands.

V’s appearance comes as BTS prepare for a major comeback. The group, who have been on hiatus due to mandatory military service in South Korea, are working together again in the United States. A new full-length album is scheduled for release next spring, marking their first as a complete band in several years.
