Uzbekistan Imports Dates Worth $9 Mln from 17 Countries in 2025

Uzbekistan has significantly increased its imports of dates this year, according to the National Statistics Committee. Between January and July 2025 the country brought in 12,600 tonnes of dates from 17 different nations, with a total value of $9 mln.

The volume is 4,900 tonnes higher than in the same period of 2024, underscoring the growing popularity of dates on the Uzbek market.

Iran was by far the largest supplier, providing 9,800 tonnes in the first seven months of the year. Tunisia followed with 810 tonnes, while Turkey shipped 396 tonnes. Imports from Saudi Arabia reached 245 tonnes, with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan contributing 230 and 224 tonnes respectively. The United Arab Emirates supplied 196 tonnes, while the remaining 624 tonnes came from other countries.

Kursiv also reports that Uzbekistan exported a total of 130,600 tonnes of watermelons between January and June 2025.
