MG, a brand under SAIC, unveiled its latest MG4 electric vehicle at the Chengdu Auto Show 2025, making headlines with a starting price of just 68,800 yuan ($9,560). The compact EV is offered in five trims, topping out at 102,800 yuan ($14,290) for the Anxin Edition equipped with a semi-solid-state battery, which is set for delivery later this year.
Built on SAIC’s E3 pure electric platform, the MG4 offers a range of up to 530 km (CLTC) and supports 30–80% fast charging in only 20 minutes. Its design includes projector headlights, a honeycomb grille, illuminated MG logo, and dimensions of 4395mm x 1842mm x 1551mm with a 2750mm wheelbase.

Inside, the MG4 features a digital cockpit with infotainment screens ranging from 10.25 to 15.6 inches, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chip and integrated with the MG x OPPO Smart Connectivity System.
Higher trims come with advanced driver-assistance powered by the Horizon Journey J6e chip, including high-speed Navigation On Assist, lane-keeping, autonomous lane changes, and intelligent parking.
Performance-wise, the MG4 uses a six-in-one integrated motor delivering 120 kW (161 hp) and 250 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 160 km/h. Battery options include 42.8 kWh and 53.9 kWh LFP packs, offering ranges of 437 km and 530 km respectively.
The MG4’s aggressive pricing and advanced features position it as one of the most affordable long-range EVs in China’s competitive market.
