Residents of Uzbekistan will be able to observe a total lunar eclipse on the night of 7–8 September 2025. The Moon will pass fully into the Earth’s shadow, appearing in a dark red hue.

The event will start with the penumbral phase at 20:28 Tashkent time, followed by the umbral phase at 21:27. The total eclipse will begin at 22:30, peak at 23:11, and end at 23:52. The phenomenon will conclude at 01:55 with the close of the penumbral phase.

The full eclipse will last 1 hour and 22 minutes, while the entire sequence will take nearly six hours. During this period, the Moon will gradually turn reddish-orange, creating one of the most notable astronomical events of the year.

The eclipse will be visible across Asia, Europe, Africa, Russia, Oceania and Antarctica. Viewing conditions in Uzbekistan will be best outside major cities, where the night sky is darker and clearer.

According to astronomers, this will be one of the deepest eclipses in recent years. The next total lunar eclipse of similar scale visible in Uzbekistan is expected in 2029.
