Kylian Mbappe has shared his thoughts on this season’s Premier League title race, naming Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal as the main contenders.

Liverpool Still the Team to Beat

Liverpool have opened their title defence with three straight wins, including victory over Arsenal, giving them a two point cushion heading into the international break. Mbappe acknowledged Jürgen Klopp’s side remain favourites but suggested Arsenal could spring a surprise.

«Of course, Liverpool must be mentioned first as they want to keep winning trophies. But I also have high hopes for Arsenal because their squad has played together for a long time and that is vital in football. And Manchester City are always in the mix with Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland,» he told Bild.

Arsenal Backed as Dark Horses

When pressed for a clear choice, Mbappe admitted it was difficult to separate them but added:

«Maybe Arsenal, maybe it will be their year. It would certainly be easier to say City or Liverpool.»

The French forward has recent history with Arsenal after last season’s Champions League quarter-final, when the Gunners stunned Real Madrid with a 3-0 first leg win at the Emirates before sealing the tie 2-1 at the Bernabeu.

Champions League Predictions

Asked about Europe’s elite competition this season, Mbappe replied:

«I always say Real Madrid. But there are many strong sides in Europe and the new format made last year fantastic. This season should be even better.»

Mbappe has yet to win the Champions League and last year saw his former club Paris Saint-Germain lift the trophy immediately after his departure.
