Uzbekistan Registers Over 462,000 Active Enterprises by August 2025

According to the National Statistics Committee, as of August 1, 2025 Uzbekistan had more than 462,200 enterprises and organisations in operation.
The majority are small businesses and microfirms, totalling around 392,400. Trade remains the leading sector of economic activity, accounting for 32.6% of all registered companies.
Industry makes up 12.7% of enterprises, while agriculture — including forestry and fisheries — represents 7.4%. Construction and hospitality, covering accommodation and food services, each hold a 6.3% share. Transport and logistics account for 3.6%, healthcare and social support for 2.8% and information and communication technologies for 2.4%.
Other areas of activity collectively make up the remaining 25.9% of enterprises across the country.
Kursiv also reports that as of early August 2025 the number of active family businesses in Uzbekistan exceeded 37,800.
