Miss Grand Uzbekistan 2023 Amaliya Shakirova is expecting her first child and plans to deliver in the Philippines, where she and her husband, Carlos Alberto «Chuck» De Jesus Oreta, are building their life together.
The 2023 Miss Grand International semifinalist revealed she is in her third trimester and expecting a baby girl in November. She recently shared maternity photos on social media, captured by several photographers, including Doc Marlon, Rob Leung, and Dom Cruz.
Shakirova, who runs a cosmetic dentistry business in Manila, married Oreta in January 2025 after six years of dating. The couple first met at an event in Manila in 2016.
«We haven’t even gone on our honeymoon yet, but God already blessed us with this gift,» she said.
The beauty queen noted that her husband has been especially caring since they found out about the pregnancy. While her family remains in Uzbekistan, Shakirova hopes her mother can join her in Manila to support her during the transition to motherhood. She also plans to eventually bring her daughter to Uzbekistan to meet her relatives.
Although the couple has prepared a list of Spanish-inspired names, they have decided to wait until after the baby’s birth to make a final choice.
«More than anything, I want her to feel secure and supported enough to follow her own passions,» Shakirova said.
