Kursiv Uzbekistan has gathered everything you need to know about the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony:
What is the Ballon d’Or?
The Ballon d’Or, presented annually by France Football since 1956, is football’s most prestigious individual honour. It recognises players for outstanding talent, decisive performances and achievements across the season.
Since 2024, UEFA has partnered with Groupe Amaury, the owner of France Football and L’Équipe, to co-organise the event. The partnership aims to expand the award’s global reach while keeping the independent voting system in place.
The 69th Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 20:00 CET at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, hosted by Dutch legend Ruud Gullit and British journalist Kate Scott.

How is the Ballon d’Or Decided?
An international jury of journalists from the top 100 football nations for men and top 50 for women vote on the awards. Each voter selects ten players, awarding points from 15 to 1. The player with the most points wins, with ties broken by number of first-place votes, then second-place and so on.
Every winner receives their own original trophy and may also request official replicas.
