Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has declared that US President Donald Trump is worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize. He made the statement during a meeting at the UN headquarters on the sidelines of the 80th anniversary session of the General Assembly.
«I want to congratulate you once again for bringing conflicts to an end. Most importantly, you resolved the dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was crucial for our region. I repeat once again, no one is more deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize than you. We say this and will continue to say it,» Mirziyoyev stated.
Trump in turn welcomed reforms in Uzbekistan and praised the outcomes of Mirziyoyev’s meetings with executives from over 50 major US companies and banks. The two leaders reviewed opportunities for strengthening bilateral partnership alongside regional and global political issues.
Following the talks, a package of contracts and projects was signed covering aviation, mining, energy, finance and innovation.
