Over 17,000 Companies with Foreign Capital Operating in Uzbekistan in 2025

As of September 1, 2025, Uzbekistan had nearly 17,000 enterprises operating with foreign capital, according to figures released by the National Statistics Agency. Of these, more than 4,100 were joint ventures while over 12,000 were entirely foreign-owned.

The largest share of these companies was registered in trade, with over 6,000 enterprises. Industry followed with around 3,500 firms. The construction sector accounted for more than 1,200 companies while the information and communications field recorded a similar number.

Beyond these, more than 700 businesses were active in accommodation and food services, over 500 in transport and storage, 430 in agriculture and 203 in healthcare and social services.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that China, Russia and Turkey remain the leading contributors to the country’s business landscape.
