A Colombian league match between Independiente Medellín and Junior Barranquilla produced one of the strangest moments of the season when visiting forward Guillermo Paiva of Paraguay found the net in an unusual way.
Paiva was lying in the penalty area after a collision when a cross from Daniel Rivera struck him directly on the backside and bounced into the corner of the goal. The stadium was stunned, social media exploded — but celebrations were cut short as the assistant referee raised his flag for offside.
