Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny has been announced as the headline act for the 2026 Super Bowl half-time show, set to take place on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, northern California.

The NFL confirmed the news on Sunday alongside partners Apple Music and Roc Nation. The Grammy-winning artist follows Kendrick Lamar’s record-breaking 2025 performance, which drew over 146 mln viewers.

Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is enjoying one of the strongest years of his career. Earlier this month, he completed a landmark residency in Puerto Rico that attracted more than half a million fans. He leads this year’s Latin Grammy nominations with 12 nods and released his latest album Debí Tirar Más Fotos earlier in 2025.

A Statement for Puerto Rico and Latin Music

In a statement, Bad Bunny said the honour was about more than himself.

«It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown … this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.»

Roc Nation founder Jay-Z praised the choice, saying what Bad Bunny «has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring».

The 31-year-old has become one of the most streamed artists worldwide with albums such as Un Verano Sin Ti and is widely regarded as a global ambassador for Latin music. He has also appeared in films including Bullet Train and Caught Stealing, and built collaborations with top fashion houses.

Production and Expectations

The half-time show will be produced by Roc Nation and Jesse Collins, with Hamish Hamilton as director.

«We know his dynamic performances, creative vision, and deep connection with fans will deliver the kind of unforgettable experience we’ve come to expect,» said Jon Barker, senior vice-president of global event production for the NFL.

Apple Music’s Oliver Schusser added:

«His music has not only broken records but has elevated Latin music to the centre of pop culture. We are thrilled to bring this historic performance to millions worldwide.»

Bad Bunny will also host Saturday Night Live on October 4, marking his second time as host. The announcement follows his recent comments that he excluded the United States from his upcoming world tour due to concerns over possible immigration raids at his concerts.

Kursiv also reports that American singer Jason Derulo staged a scene at his St Petersburg concert on September 28 that closely mirrored Egor Kreed’s well-known stage act.
