American singer Jason Derulo staged a scene at his St Petersburg concert on September 28 that closely mirrored Egor Kreed’s well-known stage act. Performing at the SKA Arena, Derulo lounged on a sofa while a dancer gave a provocative routine to Kreed’s track Malo, tak malo. At the climax, she leaned in for a kiss but he pointedly refused, echoing Kreed’s signature move.

According to Fontanka, Derulo’s set included several local pop-culture references. A day earlier in Moscow, he had walked on stage to Tatiana Kurtukova’s viral hit Matushka, and in St Petersburg he cemented his «Russian programme» by repeating Kreed’s infamous number. The original routine once drew criticism from politician Yekaterina Mizulina, who accused Kreed of «corrupting audiences».

Kreed responded positively to Derulo’s nod, thanking him on social media.

«That level when international stars repeat your act 🙂 Though not just repeat it, they stage it to my track! Thanks for the support Jason Derulo, big shout-out to you too. I’m pleasantly surprised,» the Russian singer posted on Telegram.

The moment quickly went viral, with online users debating how Derulo not only referenced a Russian hit but also revived memories of the controversy surrounding Kreed’s performance.
