Kazakhstan has been chosen as the filming location for the fourth instalment of Jackie Chan’s legendary action franchise, Armour of God. The news was confirmed by the media company Sәlem Entertainment, which announced that the upcoming film, titled Armour of God: Ultimatum, will be produced in the country.
Speaking at the Digital Bridge 2025 forum, the company’s CEO Igor Tsai informed the President of Kazakhstan that production of the new film starring Jackie Chan would take place locally, marking a significant collaboration between the Kazakh film industry and one of Asia’s most famous movie icons.
The Armour of God series first appeared in 1986 with the original film directed by Chan himself. Its sequels, Operation Condor (1991) and Chinese Zodiac (2012), became global hits and established the franchise as one of the most recognisable adventure sagas in Asian cinema.
A Warm Kazakh Welcome for Jackie Chan

Before filming began, the legendary actor visited the Sәlem Entertainment office to meet the team and officially launch the new project. According to the company, organising the meeting was both exciting and challenging, as the team wanted to show genuine Kazakh hospitality while respecting Chan’s well-known modesty and dislike of extravagance.
The first encounter took place in the spirit of a friendly family gathering. Chan paused introductions only to enjoy another helping of baursak, the traditional Kazakh pastry. After the formalities, he signed a plate bearing the team’s names — a cherished memento that now decorates the company’s main hall.
When asked how Sәlem welcomed Jackie, the team’s response was simple yet heartfelt: «As one of our own» — warmly, sincerely, and with taste.
Kursiv also reports that on September 23 witnesses spotted Jackie Chan at Almaty Airport, where the 71-year-old actor and martial arts legend was photographed shortly after landing.
