At the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala, Azerbaijan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented a comprehensive vision for the future of Turkic cooperation — emphasizing economic unity, innovation and youth development as key drivers of regional progress.
In his speech, Mirziyoyev congratulated Azerbaijan on its recent peace agreement with Armenia and called it a shared achievement for all Turkic nations. He proposed a Treaty on Strategic Partnership and Brotherhood and a Development Strategy until 2030, aimed at deepening trust and promoting trade, investment, and technological innovation.
Uzbekistan suggested establishing a Permanent Council for Economic Partnership in Tashkent to coordinate new industrial projects and expand cooperation in sectors such as energy, engineering, and construction. The president also emphasized the creation of «Turkic Green Corridors» to promote eco-friendly industries and sustainable development.
Mirziyoyev identified six key areas for future cooperation:
- Strengthening political and economic unity;
- Ensuring food security and promoting organic production;
- Improving transport connectivity through projects like the Middle Corridor and the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway;
- Expanding financial collaboration via the Turkic Investment Fund and global banks;
- Advancing artificial intelligence and creative industries;
- Supporting education, science, and youth initiatives across the Turkic world.
Uzbekistan will also chair the Union of Turkic Universities in 2025–2026 and plans to open the International University of Turkic States to promote research and innovation.
President Mirziyoyev’s proposals reaffirm Uzbekistan’s leadership role in shaping a stronger, more connected Turkic community — one grounded in shared values, modern technologies, and sustainable growth.
