Uzbekistan plans to raise its agricultural and food exports to $3.5 bn in the coming years, with a further increase to $4 bn by 2027. This is stated in a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the development of greenhouses and export of fruits and vegetables.
Under the strategy, gas-supplied greenhouses are expected to produce 620,000 tonnes of agricultural goods next year, rising to 670,000 tonnes by 2027. Export volumes are projected to grow from 30% to 70% during this period.
To support the sector, a reduced social tax rate of 1% will be applied to greenhouse enterprises from 2026 to 2028, while owners will be allowed to settle outstanding debts without interest until the end of 2028.
Additionally, fruit and vegetable seedlings will be planted along field borders on a total area of 35,000 hectares between 2026 and 2027, helping to further expand Uzbekistan’s agricultural base and strengthen its position in global food markets.
Kursiv also reports that recently, Uzbekistan has delivered its first shipment of Torpedo melons to Singapore.
