Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC has completed another stage of multimodal cargo deliveries to Eastern Europe, advancing its strategy to expand container transport along the Uzbekistan–Europe route.

The company dispatched urea containers from the Sergeli logistics centre to Italian, Greek and Bulgarian seaports. The 39-container train is travelling via the CASCA+ route, transiting through the port of Poti in Georgia before reaching Burgas (Bulgaria), Piraeus (Greece), and Naples and La Spezia (Italy). Average transit time is around 25 to 30 days.

These shipments enhance Uzbekistan’s export capacity and promote sustainable logistics cooperation with European partners. The project aims to make Uzbek goods more competitive on global markets through faster and safer transport solutions.

CASCA+ Corridor: Linking Asia and Europe

The CASCA+ transport corridor is a key multimodal trade route connecting China and Asia-Pacific countries through Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan), the South Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia), and Türkiye, extending onwards to Europe.

The «plus» reflects the corridor’s flexible and inclusive design, allowing new partners to join and strengthening Eurasian logistics integration by combining rail, sea and land transport networks.

Kursiv also reports that Tashkent Airport has become the second-largest cargo hub in Central Asia after Almaty, according to Kelly Chen, head of strategic supply at Freightos Group.
