The Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy has called for increasing the level of capital investment in the country’s GDP, according to the National Development Program presented on October 10 at the 11th «Life in Kyrgyzstan» Conference.

The updated strategy outlines economic goals through 2030, following the current program that runs until 2026. The new framework aims to expand the national economy by 1.7 times within six years, requiring an annual growth rate of 6–7%. Between 2014 and 2019, Kyrgyzstan’s GDP grew at an average of 4.2% per year.

Officials noted that unlocking the investment potential of the economy will be key to achieving these targets. The government plans to raise capital investments to 20% of GDP by 2030, up from 16% in 2024.

According to the ministry, at least $2 bn in new investments will be needed to reach the planned growth benchmarks.
