Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov is expected to remain sidelined for at least another week, according to fresh reports from Uzbekistan.
The 21-year-old has not featured since sustaining an injury during City’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal last month. Despite early optimism about his recovery, Khusanov has yet to rejoin full training, delaying his comeback.
The Uzbekistan international has already missed four matches, against Huddersfield, Burnley, AS Monaco, and Brentford, and will reportedly be unavailable for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Everton at the Etihad Stadium.
Sources, including journalist Davron Fayziev, suggest the club is being cautious to avoid aggravating the problem, though the injury is not believed to be serious.
Khusanov’s absence has been noticeable, with Pep Guardiola valuing his ability to play both centrally and on the right side of defence. Signed in January, the young defender quickly earned praise for his composure and tactical adaptability, marking him as one of City’s most promising long-term prospects.
If his recovery stays on track, Khusanov could return in time for City’s upcoming trip to Aston Villa, providing Guardiola with much-needed depth amid ongoing rotation and fitness concerns across the backline.
