Mirziyoyev Launches Second Phase of Tashkent’s Expanding IT Park

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has attended the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the second phase of Tashkent’s IT Park, marking another milestone in Uzbekistan’s digital transformation.
Under this new stage, the area of the complex will be expanded by 1.5 times. In partnership with Saudi company Data Volt, a 12 MW data centre worth $150 mln will be built, with plans to increase its capacity to 500 MW in the future and attract an additional $3 bn in investment. The site will also include an Artificial Intelligence Centre, a Space and Future Technologies Centre, two 20-storey office towers, and service and retail facilities.
The president highlighted that the project aims to create over 300,000 high-paying IT jobs across the country.
Two years ago, the first phase of the park was completed, featuring six modern office buildings and a congress hall on a 4-hectare site, with total investments of $200 mln.
Today, IT Park serves as a hub for technology professionals and a launchpad for innovative startups. It hosts over 3,200 companies and employs more than 14,000 specialists. Last year, the park’s residents generated $1.6 bn in services, a figure expected to exceed $2.5 bn this year, while exports are set to reach $1 bn for the first time.
Kursiv also reports that a new Riyadh-style complex will be constructed in New Tashkent with the participation of Saudi companies Al Majdiah and First Avenue.
