A new Riyadh-style complex will be constructed in New Tashkent with the participation of Saudi companies Al Majdiah and First Avenue, according to the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

The initiative was discussed during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s meeting with the heads of leading Saudi firms on October 15. The gathering included representatives from ACWA Power, Vision Invest, Al Majdiah, Riyadh Cables, InterHealth, and Saudi Tabreed.

During the meeting, Abdulsalam Al Majid, Chairman of the Boards of Al Majdiah and First Avenue, highlighted the growing interest of Saudi entrepreneurs in investing in Uzbekistan.

«In recent years, more Saudi businessmen have been eager to invest in Uzbekistan. We have also decided to bring our investments here. Together with Uzbek partners, we plan to build a complex in New Tashkent inspired by Riyadh’s architectural style,» he said.

Kursiv also reports that a new 1,500-megawatt thermal power plant has been commissioned in Uzbekistan’s Syrdarya region, developed in partnership with Saudi energy company ACWA Power.
