US Envoys in Tashkent to Discuss Critical Minerals, Energy and C5+1 Partnership

US Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs Ambassador Sergio Gor and Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau have arrived in Tashkent to discuss trade and investment in critical minerals and energy, as well as regional cooperation under the C5+1 framework.
During their visit, the American diplomats are set to meet with senior government officials to explore a wide range of issues, including economic collaboration, regional security and the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two nations.
The United States reaffirmed its commitment to deepening partnerships across Central Asia and expressed its intention to expand trade and economic ties that support sustainable growth and mutually beneficial cooperation.
A key focus of the visit will be the upcoming 10th anniversary of the C5+1 diplomatic platform, which unites the United States with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Washington hopes the format will continue to promote regional stability and economic integration.
Notably, Special Envoy Sergio Gor, born Sergey Gorokhovsky, is originally from Tashkent, where he was born in 1986.
