The FIA has confirmed that Aston Martin committed a procedural breach during the 2024 Formula 1 cost cap submission process, while all other nine teams were found to be fully compliant.

According to the governing body, the issue stemmed from a missing auditor signature, despite Aston Martin submitting its financial accounts before the deadline. The FIA acknowledged that the problem was caused by circumstances beyond the team’s control, and resolved the matter through an Accepted Breach Agreement (ABA) with the British outfit.

The announcement came after speculation that one team had significantly exceeded the cost cap. The FIA’s final statement, however, dismissed those rumours, confirming that no team had overspent.

«The review of the Reporting Documentation was a very thorough and intensive process spanning seven months,» the FIA said in a statement.

It added that the assessment required a detailed review of the financial and technical aspects of each team’s development activities.

«The FIA confirms that all F1 Teams and all PU Manufacturers gave their full support in providing the required information,» the statement continued. «All parties acted at all times in a spirit of good faith and co-operation.»

The FIA also verified that all five power unit manufacturers complied with Formula 1’s financial regulations during the 2024 season.

Kursiv also reports that over the last weekend Lando Norris produced a flawless performance at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez to claim a dominant victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix.
