The National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan reported that the country’s average monthly nominal wage reached 6.17 mln soums ($512) in the first nine months of 2025, marking a 19.2% increase compared with the same period last year.

Regional Breakdown

The highest average wages were recorded in Tashkent, where employees earned 10.38 mln soums ($861) per month. Navoi region followed with 7.61 mln soums ($631), while the lowest averages were observed in Kashkadarya (4.27 mln soums/$354) and Surkhandarya (4.35 mln soums/$361).

Wages also rose notably in Samarkand, where they increased by 24.8%, the fastest growth among all regions.

Sectoral Overview

Across industries, the financial sector topped the list, with an average monthly wage of 16.83 mln soums ($1,396), followed by information and communications at 14.99 mln soums ($1,243), and transport and logistics at 9.38 mln soums ($778).

The arts and entertainment sector saw the strongest year-on-year growth — 22.8%, while education recorded an increase of 19.8%, reaching 4.19 mln soums ($348).

By contrast, average wages in healthcare remained relatively modest at 3.77 mln soums ($313), despite a 14.6% rise from 2024.

Uzbekistan’s wage growth continues to outpace inflation, reflecting structural shifts in the economy, higher productivity, and continued demand in the services and financial sectors. According to the Committee, figures are based on official enterprise reports and exclude small and microbusinesses, which will be included in the annual report.

Kursiv also reports that in July this year, the government of Uzbekistan announced intention to increase pensions and public sector salaries each year at a rate exceeding inflation.
