Plug Power Inc. has signed a supply agreement with Allied Biofuels FE LLC (ABF) to deliver up to 2 gigawatts (GW) of its GenEco PEM electrolyzer systems for a landmark renewable fuels project in Uzbekistan.
The electrolyzers will power ABF’s new production facility for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), electro-sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) and green diesel, with a final investment decision expected in late 2026.
This latest agreement builds on Plug’s previously announced 3 GW collaboration with Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) in Australia, bringing the total contracted capacity between Plug and its Allied partners to 5 GW across two large-scale clean energy projects.
Plug’s technology will serve as the backbone of ABF’s flagship biorefinery complex in Uzbekistan, a strategically positioned site designed to meet global demand for low-carbon fuels.
«Turning Hydrogen Commitments into Reality»
The signing took place in Australia during Plug CEO Andy Marsh’s regional visit, where he met with energy partners and project developers to advance hydrogen and renewable fuel ventures. The deal is one of the largest electrolyzer supply agreements announced in 2025, underscoring Plug’s expanding influence in Central Asia’s energy transition.
«This agreement is proof that Plug delivers on what others are still planning,» said Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug Power. «We’re turning hydrogen commitments into real, operating projects at multi-gigawatt scale. Signing this agreement in Australia shows our deep engagement in the global hydrogen economy and our ability to support large-scale SAF and eSAF production.»
«Allied Biofuels is committed to providing reliable, low-carbon fuel solutions to global markets,» said Alfred Benedict, Chairman of Allied Biofuels. «Partnering with Plug’s world-class electrolyzer platform gives us the scale and performance our customers demand. Finalising this agreement marks a key milestone as we move toward our investment decision.»
Driving Clean Energy Growth Across Asia
Plug’s growing presence in Asia-Pacific and Central Asia reinforces its role as a major supplier of electrolyzers for renewable fuel and hydrogen-based power projects. Beyond Uzbekistan, the company is expanding operations in South Korea, India, and Japan, supporting national efforts to integrate clean hydrogen into power generation and industry.
