Former NFL star Tom Brady has opened up about the challenges of balancing life as a father, broadcaster and businessman, admitting in his latest newsletter that «life finally caught up to me» after a hectic few weeks.

The retired quarterback, now 48, revealed that he had been feeling rundown and «a little under the weather» as he juggled his duties as a father of three and his growing list of professional commitments.

«It’s Been a Crazy October»

Brady, who shares 18-year-old Jack with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan and two younger children, Benjamin and Vivian, with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, described October as one of his busiest months yet.

«We’re more than a third of the way through the NFL season now,» he wrote. «School is in full swing for the kids. Personally, I’ve had another amazing CardVault store grand opening, some great collaborations, and then there were my FOX media duties and my responsibilities as a dad, son, partner, investor and owner. Needless to say, it’s been a crazy October.»

Brady said the intensity of his schedule had taken a toll.

«Last week it all finally caught up to me. I was rundown and a little under the weather. It happens to all of us. No matter how healthy you are, if you’re constantly on the move, a bug is going to get you eventually — it’s your body’s way of telling you to slow down.»

He also shared his personal rules for staying resilient, including nine hours of sleep per night, staying hydrated and maintaining strict nutrition.

Balancing Family and Career

Brady’s reflections on work-life balance come months after comments about his past marriage drew attention. Bündchen, who had previously voiced concerns about his dedication to football, encouraged him to retire for the sake of their family.

In a July edition of his newsletter, Brady appeared to defend his past decisions, saying:

«Part of being a great father is being a great example. My dedication to football was about showing my children what it means to work hard, stay committed and follow through.»

Bündchen, in earlier interviews, had expressed her worries about Brady’s health and his time away from the family.

«I have my concerns — it’s a very violent sport, and I’d like him to be more present,» she told Elle magazine in 2022.

Brady went on to play one final season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before officially retiring in 2023 after a playoff defeat to the Dallas Cowboys. He now serves as Fox Sports’ lead NFL analyst under a 10-year, $375 mln deal, while managing a growing business portfolio that includes several sports, wellness and media ventures.
