Cristiano Ronaldo Says Retirement is Coming “Soon”

Cristiano Ronaldo has said he plans to retire «soon» and expects he will cry when his long career comes to an end.

The 40-year-old forward, who plays for Al Nassr and Portugal, spoke to Piers Morgan and said he has already prepared for life after football.

«It will be tough,» Ronaldo said. «Probably I will cry, yes. But I have prepared for my future since I was 25 or 26. I think I will be ready.»

Ronaldo has scored 952 career goals and won five Ballon d’Or awards. He still watches Manchester United, where he played twice, and praised manager Ruben Amorim but warned fans not to expect «miracles.»

«Manchester United is still in my heart,» he said. «They are not on a good path and it is not only about the coach or the players. Things need to change.»

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in 2022 and has scored 102 goals in 115 games for the Saudi club.
