About 2,000 people have fled towns and villages around Bara, North Kordofan since Friday amid heavy clashes between Sudan’s army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the UN’s International Organisation for Migration said.

North Kordofan and Darfur have become the war’s epicenters. The RSF’s capture of El Fasher has left hundreds dead and forced nearly 92,000 to flee, aid groups say. Overall, the conflict—sparked in 2023 between former allies meant to guide Sudan’s transition—has killed at least 40,000 and displaced 12 mln, according to UN agencies.

Local medics reported at least 47 civilians killed in late-October RSF attacks in Bara, while the IOM estimates 39,000 people have fled North Kordofan since October 26, many heading toward Khartoum, Omdurman and Sheikan. On Monday, the RSF claimed its fighters entered Babanusa in West Kordofan.

In Darfur, the Sudan Doctors Network accused the RSF of removing bodies from El Fasher’s streets, burying some in mass graves and burning others. Recent satellite imagery, analysed by independent researchers, appears to show the disposal of bodies and a fire at Saudi Hospital in the city.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that Police in Delhi are investigating a car explosion that killed at least eight people and injured 20 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the main law used in India to handle cases linked to terrorism and threats to national security.
