A new projection from AceOdds.com suggests Arsenal are on course to win the Premier League title, finishing seven points clear of Manchester City. The model continues to back Mikel Arteta’s side despite their recent draw away at Sunderland.
Manchester City’s 3-0 victory over Liverpool has moved them into second place in the predicted standings following a difficult start to the campaign. Liverpool, despite five losses in their last six league matches, are still expected to place inside the top three.
Chelsea, currently third, are forecast to end the season in fourth. Manchester United are predicted to finish fifth, narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification.
Crystal Palace Tipped for Surprise European Spot
One of the more unexpected outcomes in the projection is Crystal Palace being placed sixth, which would secure Europa League football. The model factors in results from this season and last season, fixture difficulty and squad valuations.
Tottenham, Bournemouth and Newcastle are forecast to occupy eighth, ninth and tenth respectively, separated only by goal difference.
Promoted Sunderland are predicted to drop to 15th despite their strong early-season form. The model gives them only a 10% chance of finishing in the top half.
At the lower end of the table, Nottingham Forest under Sean Dyche and West Ham led by Nuno Espirito Santo are expected to avoid relegation. Leeds are projected to fall just short of safety.
Wolves, currently without a permanent manager, are predicted to finish bottom. The model nonetheless expects their points total to increase as the season progresses.
Kursiv also reports that a simulation, conducted by CasinoHawks, projects that the Gunners will end the campaign with 90 points and 28 wins from 38 matches, making them clear favourites for the title.
