President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his article «Central Asia on the Threshold of a New Era,» emphasised that regional cooperation must remain voluntary, pragmatic and focused on tangible results.

He noted that Central Asian countries must address issues that determine the region’s stability and reiterated his support for continued regional collaboration.

Mirziyoyev called for deeper coordination in security, including regular meetings between national security secretaries, intelligence agencies, and defense and law enforcement structures.

In the economic sphere, the Uzbek leader highlighted the need to accelerate intra-regional trade, simplify border crossings and improve conditions for investment.

«We must more actively promote industrial cooperation, develop regional and interregional supply chains, and expand cross-border trade zones,» Mirziyoyev said.

He added that countries should also prioritize cooperation on climate issues and the preservation of water resources.

According to the president, it is important to advance education, science, culture, tourism and youth programs — efforts that will strengthen mutual understanding and help build a regional identity based on shared values.

In conclusion, Mirziyoyev underscored the importance of coordinated action by Central Asian states on the international stage. He reaffirmed that «Central Asia Plus» formats remain effective mechanisms for building partnerships with key global stakeholders.
