Uzbekistan Plans $2.4 Bn Investment in Green Construction Materials

Uzbekistan plans to increase the share of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly products in the construction materials sector to 25% next year and 35% by 2030, according to a presentation reviewed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The government intends to implement 112 projects worth $2.4 bn, creating 13,500 new jobs. In the long term, the project portfolio is expected to grow to $3.5 bn. Five major projects, valued at $110 mln, will be of strategic importance. Next year, 40 projects focusing on deep processing of kaolin, worth $515 mln, will be launched alongside the training of 460 specialists.

Export potential was also highlighted. Regional markets for construction materials exceed $4 bn, and Uzbekistan plans to expand exports of nine types of products to 26 countries.

The president emphasised the importance of research, announcing that 30 bn soums ($2.5 mln) will be allocated to scientific projects in construction materials from next year. The sector is also being aligned with WTO standards: 125 international standards have been implemented, and this number is expected to reach 166 by 2026.
