Uzbekistan has drawn almost $2 bn in investments into its artificial intelligence and digital technology sectors, while IT services exports have increased 4.5 times, nearing $1 bn, officials said during an AI forum attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The number of universities training IT specialists has nearly tripled to 145, with 80,000 students enrolled. Through the Bir Million Dasturchi project, over 2 mln young people have upgraded their technical skills. More than 20,000 computer science teachers nationwide are completing intensive courses at the New Uzbekistan University, conducted in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

In healthcare, digital diagnostics have helped identify over 50,000 accurate disease causes, cutting patient service time by five to seven times. In Karakalpakstan, 70% of mammogram scans are analysed by a local AI platform, with 98% of results confirmed by doctors and diagnosis time reduced to two hours.

The number of technology startups has grown tenfold, attracting $300 mln in investment. Uzbekistan has also partnered with Saudi Arabia to begin construction of its first $3 bn «green» data centre.
