Ariana Grande has issued a renewed appeal against body-shaming and speculation about her health, urging fans to stop commenting on people’s appearances. In a message reshared to Instagram, the singer reminded followers that «appearance can be misleading,» reflecting on past periods when she appeared «healthy» despite struggling with her wellbeing.

The conversation resurfaced amid promotional events for Wicked: For Good, where recent images of Grande sparked fresh online scrutiny. Some social-media users went so far as to question whether the photos were genuine, fuelling rumours about drastic weight loss or cosmetic interventions. Despite the noise, the film continues to perform strongly, setting new records for Broadway adaptations.

At the same time, Grande faces a separate wave of criticism over her public persona. Discussions on platforms including TikTok and Reddit accuse the star of «infantilising» herself through a childlike voice and aesthetic, claims that have triggered wider debate about celebrity branding and the commodification of vulnerability.

Grande’s message, however, remained focused on compassion: a reminder, she said, to avoid judging others’ bodies and to recognise that health does not look the same for everyone.
