Uzbekistan Hosts Art and Culture Days of Azerbaijan at Fergana State University

Fergana State University hosts cultural celebrations highlighting Azerbaijani literature, art and bilateral ties

Uzbekistan has hosted the Art and Culture Days of Azerbaijan at Fergana State University, an event organised by the Heydar Aliyev Culture Center under the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tashkent, UzA reported.

The programme featured a presentation of Jonimga jo – Ozarbayjonim (My Dear Azerbaijan) by renowned Azerbaijani poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh. A delegation led by Akif Marifli, Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center, joined university professors and lecturers to celebrate the poet’s legacy and the long-standing cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Students welcomed guests with performances of Azerbaijani songs, while an exhibition of paintings and applied arts showcased local interpretations of regional landscapes and national traditions.

A new lecture hall dedicated to Vahabzadeh’s life and works was inaugurated by University Rector Bahodirjon Shermuhammadov and Akif Marifli. The ceremony concluded with the signing of cooperation agreements to expand cultural and academic collaboration.

The event also saw the opening of a special Azerbaijani literature corner at the university’s Information Resource Center, enriched with books donated by the Azerbaijan Cultural Center to support students and researchers.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that the Ministry of Justice has announced that a new decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sets out plans to expand the Tashkent Metro network to 103 km by 2030.
