Iran Says It Has “No Limitations” on Expanding Cooperation With Belarus

Iran is ready to deepen its partnership with Belarus across all sectors, Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said on Wednesday during a meeting in Tehran with Andrei Kuznetsov, Belarus’s minister of industry and head of the Belarusian delegation to the Joint Commission on Cooperation.
Aref emphasised that Iran and Belarus have complementary economies capable of meeting one another’s needs, adding that expanding cooperation is one of Tehran’s strategic priorities. He said the successful 18th meeting of the Joint Commission has created «a very good opportunity» to advance comprehensive ties.
The vice president also noted that the two countries share similar positions in international forums and collaborate within multiple regional organizations, making continued coordination essential.
Aref highlighted President Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Belarus as a turning point that opened «a new horizon» in bilateral relations. He stressed that greater delegation exchanges, along with the work of the joint commission, would help boost economic cooperation.
He added that private-sector businesses in both countries should be encouraged to expand trade, particularly following the free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union.
