Uzbekistan Explores Denmark’s Digital Governance Model to Modernize Public Services
A delegation from Uzbekistan has travelled to Denmark to study the country’s globally renowned digital public service system, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The delegation,led by Eldor Makhkamov, Head of the Public Services Department at the Ministry of Justice, held meetings with Danish officials from the Center for Digital Government, the Ministry of Digital Government, the national IT services agency, the Chamber of Commerce, the Health Authority, the State Archives and the Data Protection Agency.
Discussions focused on Denmark’s most successful digital governance practices, including full digitalization of documents and state services, outsourcing of select government functions to the private sector, and strong systems for personal data protection.
Uzbek officials also examined innovative digital tools co-created by government, business, and academia, especially those designed to streamline starting and operating a business.
The visit was part of the project «Further Improving the Delivery of Public Services in Uzbekistan,» implemented by the Ministry of Justice in partnership with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and funded by the European Union, as Uzbekistan continues advancing its digital transformation agenda.
Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that Uzbekistan has taken a major step toward becoming Central Asia’s fintech hub after President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a sweeping decree on 28 November approving a regulatory sandbox for stablecoin payments, set to launch on 1 January 2026.
