A violent attack took place at Uspensky secondary school in the Gorki-2 settlement near Moscow. A ninth-grade student entered the school with a knife and attacked other pupils.

A fourth-grade pupil, identified as Kobiljon A., was killed. He died before emergency services arrived. At least two other people were injured.

At the school entrance, the attacker used pepper spray against a security guard. The guard, a 32-year-old man named Dmitry Pavlov, was injured and taken to hospital.

According to the Telegram channel 112, the suspect is a 15-year-old ninth-grade student named Timofey K. Reports say he entered the school wearing a T-shirt with the slogan «No lives matter» and recorded his actions on video. He was carrying a knife and an object described as resembling a homemade explosive device.

After the attack began, pupils were evacuated from the building. Police, emergency services and special units arrived at the scene. The teenager reportedly barricaded himself in a classroom for a short time before being detained.

Sources claim the school did not have metal detectors and that the security guard lacked protective equipment. The attacker was able to bring the knife and other items into the building without obstruction.

The motives behind the attack are under investigation. Law enforcement agencies have not yet issued an official statement.
