Korean stars Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung face off in the crime thriller «Made in Korea,» which debuts on Disney+ on December 24 with a two-episode premiere.
Hyun Bin, known for «Crash Landing on You» and «Confidential Assignment,» plays Baek Kitae, a KCIA agent in 1970s South Korea who balances a perilous double life. By day he works for the government, by night he runs an illegal operation, leveraging criminal connections to protect his brother, expand his power, and generate funds for the agency. Jung Woo-sung, of «Tell Me That You Love Me» and «12.12: The Day,» stars as Jang Geonyoung, an upright prosecutor intent on taking Kitae down. Woo Dohwan («Bloodhounds,» «Mr. Plankton») plays Kitae’s brother, Baek Kihyun.
The series is written by Park Eunkyo («Mother,» «A Normal Family,» «The Silent Sea») and Park Joonseok («A Normal Family»), directed by Woo Minho («The Man Standing Next,» «Inside Men,» «Harbin») and produced by Hive Media Corp, known for projects including «Inside Men» and «12.12: The Day.»
After the opening two episodes, two more will release on December 31, with the final pair arriving weekly until January 14. A second season has already been greenlit and is currently in production.
«Made in Korea» joins Disney+’s growing Korean drama lineup, which launched in 2025 with titles such as «Unmasked,» «Nine Puzzles,» «Hyper Knife,» «Low Life,» «The Murky Stream,» and «Tempest.» New Korean shows set for 2026 include «Gold Land» starring Park Bo-young, «Perfect Crown» with IU and Byeon Woo-seok, and the second season of «A Shop for Killers» featuring Lee Dong-wook and Kim Hye-jun.
Kursiv also reports that Sony Pictures is developing a live-action film based on Labubu with Paul King as the director.
