Starting January 4, 2026, Kyrgyzstan will introduce fixed tariffs for domestic airline tickets, eliminating price fluctuations based on demand or the time of purchase. The change was announced on air by Aiday Shaidylbaeva, Commercial Director of one of the country’s airlines.
Fixed prices instead of market-based fares
According to Shaidylbaeva, airfares on domestic routes were previously set according to market principles and could vary significantly depending on seat availability and demand. Under the new system, ticket prices will be fixed and identical for all passengers, regardless of when the ticket is purchased.
Discounts for pensioners
A 10% discount for pensioners will remain in place. However, it will apply within established quotas, meaning the number of discounted tickets will be limited.
Competition with private airlines
Shaidylbaeva noted that private carriers operate on routes such as Bishkek–Osh and Bishkek–Manas. The newly introduced fixed tariffs are expected to be lower than those offered by private airlines.
Currently, ticket prices on these routes vary as follows:
- Bishkek–Manas: 3,600 to 4,100 soms
- Bishkek–Osh: 3,600 to 5,500 soms
Increased flight frequency to regions
In addition to pricing changes, the airline plans to increase the frequency of regional flights. From January 4, flights to Naryn and Kazarman will operate twice a week instead of once, improving connectivity with remote regions.
The introduction of fixed tariffs is expected to make domestic air travel more predictable and affordable, particularly for residents of the regions, while supporting balanced competition in the aviation market.
