Uzbekistan to Strengthen Spiritual and Ideological Content of National Holidays

The Uzbek government has approved a resolution aimed at enhancing the spiritual, cultural and ideological content of national holidays, according to an official document.

Under the new approach, methodological guidelines will be developed for each national holiday to ensure a unified concept and consistent messaging during celebrations.

Over 50 National Holidays Covered

The document notes that Uzbekistan currently celebrates more than 50 nationwide holidays. Each of them will receive a distinct thematic framework, including:

  • Unique musical compositions
  • Special decorative designs
  • Unified visual and cultural elements

These measures are intended to reinforce national values and cultural identity through public celebrations.

Focus on Youth and Interactive Events

Holiday programmes will increasingly include interactive formats, with a strong emphasis on showcasing successful and talented young people. Among the planned initiatives is a youth-focused action show titled «The Most Talented Young Person».

Authorities believe that highlighting youth achievements during national celebrations will help promote role models, civic engagement and social cohesion.

Broader Cultural Policy Goals

The initiative forms part of a broader effort to align public events with Uzbekistan’s state cultural and social policy, placing greater emphasis on spiritual values, national unity and positive social narratives.
