As 2025 drew to a close, global K-pop group BTS set off intense online speculation without releasing any music or teasers. Instead, a modest New Year gift to fans proved enough to send ARMY into a frenzy.
On December 30, selected South Korean fans with gold ARMY memberships received a postcard from BTS. While it appeared to be a standard New Year greeting, fans quickly noticed a small detail beneath a newly unveiled logo: the date March 20, 2026.

Social media was soon flooded with theories, with many fans suggesting the date could signal a long-awaited OT7 comeback. The timing added to the excitement, as March 20 marks the start of spring and falls on a Friday, the traditional day for major music releases.
Speculation has grown since all seven members completed their mandatory military service by June 2025. Since then, the group has gradually re-engaged with fans, offering subtle hints about future plans. HYBE has not confirmed any comeback details.
Details of BTS postcard
The reverse side of the postcard added an emotional touch. Each member included a handwritten New Year message in Korean. Jin wrote about greeting fans again as part of the group and thanked them for their patience. J-Hope said he was excited to reunite with fans in 2026.
Suga said he missed ARMY and hoped the year ahead would be joyful. RM fuelled speculation further by writing, «Bangtan is coming.» Jimin expressed gratitude and hopes for a brighter year, while V said he missed making albums and memories with fans. Jungkook reassured fans that he has been working hard and asked them to continue supporting BTS in the year ahead.
The group’s social media pages have also been cleared out and now have a new layout, likely depicting a start for a new era.
