Uzbekistan Extends Zero Import Duty on Key Imports

Uzbekistan will maintain a zero customs duty on the import of socially important goods until January 1, 2027. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree extending the measure.
The policy is aimed at ensuring access to essential products for the population and supporting economic stability. A wide range of everyday goods will continue to be imported without customs duties.
The list includes meat and eggs such as beef, lamb, fish, eggs and processed or canned meat products. Dairy items and fats are also covered, including butter, other milk fats, vegetable and animal oils, margarine, yoghurt, cheese and cottage cheese.
The zero-duty regime applies to sugar and baking products including yeast, wheat and other flours, jam, fruit jelly, marmalade and canned fruit. Fresh produce on the list includes bananas, citrus fruits excluding lemons, apples, pears, quince, dried persimmons, onions and garlic.
Other eligible items include coffee, tea, sauces and mineral and carbonated water. Children’s goods, including clothing and footwear, are also covered by the exemption.
Kursiv also reports that Uzbekistan will introduce a package of measures to simplify customs procedures and reduce costs for businesses from March 1, 2026.
