Uzbekistan exempts EV charging equipment and green projects from duties and taxes

EV charging equipment

Uzbekistan has announced a customs duty exemption for EV charging equipment, its components, and related service infrastructure from January 1, 2026 until January 1, 2028, the government said. The measure aims to accelerate the adoption of clean transport and strengthen the country’s green infrastructure.

The presidential decree also allows duty-free import of spare parts for silkworm spinning and weaving machines, mulberry seeds and saplings, and super-elite, elite, and industrial silkworm seeds during the same period.

In addition, the government has introduced tax incentives for companies involved in waste processing. Between January 1, 2026 and January 1, 2031, corporate profit tax and social tax will be set at 1% for companies that meet certain conditions: at least 90% of revenue must come from waste collection, removal, sorting, and processing, and all employees must earn at least twice the minimum wage.

Officials said the measures are part of Uzbekistan’s broader effort to promote sustainable industrial development, green technologies, and environmental responsibility.
