While chipmakers delivered major announcements, much of the public attention focused on robots, sci-fi franchises and interactive gadgets. At the heart of the buzz was Nvidia, whose chief executive Jensen Huang introduced what the firm calls «physical AI» — systems trained in virtual environments before being deployed in real-world machines. Huang showcased new AI models, a next-generation superchip platform and drew applause by inviting two small robots onto the stage.

Rival chipmakers also made headlines. AMD unveiled new Ryzen AI processors for personal computers and gaming, while Intel introduced its Panther Lake AI chip for laptops and outlined plans to expand into handheld gaming devices.

Beyond chips, mobility and robotics featured prominently. Uber, working with Lucid Motors and Nuro, revealed a luxury robotaxi with a personalised in-cabin experience, already undergoing road testing in San Francisco. LG previewed a humanoid home robot designed to assist with everyday chores.

Entertainment brands also made waves. LEGO announced a new Smart Play platform and a partnership with Star Wars, allowing fans to build interactive space battles using sensor-equipped bricks. Meanwhile, Hyundai-owned Boston Dynamics demonstrated its humanoid robot Atlas, aimed at future manufacturing use.

CES 2026 opened with a clear message: artificial intelligence is no longer confined to screens and software, but is rapidly moving into physical products that blend technology, entertainment and everyday life.
