Actor Sadie Sink has revealed that online fan speculation accurately predicted her casting in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day — even before Marvel Studios officially approached her.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sink said she first learned of the rumours online, calling it «torture» to keep her role secret. She explained that fans had begun claiming she would appear in the next Spider-Man film days before she was offered the part.
Sink’s role remains undisclosed, though speculation has centred on her playing Jean Grey from the X-Men franchise. The actor previously said the rumours began circulating before she had signed on, fuelled by set photos showing her distinctive red hair.
Brand New Day will see Tom Holland return as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Mark Ruffalo. The film is scheduled for release on 31 July 2026.
Sink, best known for her role in Stranger Things, is also expected to reprise her Marvel character in Avengers: Secret Wars and will make her West End debut next year in Romeo & Juliet in London.
