RFK Jr Accuses Germany of Prosecuting Doctors Over Pandemic Exemptions

US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr accused Germany of prosecuting «a thousand physicians» for issuing vaccine and mask exemptions during the Covid-19 pandemic, claims the German government has dismissed as unfounded.
In a post on Saturday, Kennedy said he had written to German Health Minister Nina Warken calling for an end to what he described as «politically motivated prosecutions», accusing Germany of targeting doctors who «put their patients first». He did not provide evidence to support the allegations.

Warken rejected the claims as «completely unfounded» and said medical autonomy was constitutionally protected in Germany. She stressed that doctors were never required to administer Covid-19 vaccines and that prosecutions occurred only in cases involving fraud or forgery, such as issuing false vaccination or mask exemption certificates.
German officials noted that most related cases were concluded in 2022 and 2023, adding to questions over the timing of Kennedy’s remarks, which have further strained already tense US-German relations under the Trump administration.
