CERR: Uzbekistan Banking Profits Rise 57% in Q4 2025

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) reports that Uzbekistan’s banking sector net profit surged 57.1% year-on-year to 13.5 trln soums ($1.1bn) in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The study covered 35 commercial banks, split into 20 large and 15 small institutions. According to the CERR, total banking sector assets amounted to 892.9 trln soums ($74.2 bn) during the reporting period. Liabilities stood at 759.8 trln soums ($63.1 bn).
Key performance indicators showed positive momentum. Lending activity increased by 13% and deposits grew by 31%. The share of non-performing loans decreased from 4.3% a year earlier to 3.5%, indicating improved portfolio quality. Capital adequacy ratios exceeded minimum regulatory requirements by more than 1.4 times.
Large bank rankings
In the large bank category, sector leaders maintained stable positions. Kapitalbank held the top spot, followed by Trastbank in second and Hamkorbank in third.
SQB climbed three places in the ranking. Positive movement was also recorded by Davrbank, Orient Finance Bank, Xalq Banki and Ipoteka Bank.
InfinBank and Aloqabank saw the sharpest declines, dropping four and three positions respectively.
The report highlighted that 13 banks retained their positions. However, almost one-third of large banks lost ground in liquidity ratings, with Davrbank recording a six-position drop.
Small Bank Rankings
Among small financial institutions, Universalbank retained its leadership position. TBC Bank followed in second place, while Octobank rose one spot to secure third.
Apex Bank showed the strongest growth in this group, jumping three positions. AVO Bank and Madad Invest Bank also improved their standings, each rising by two places. The largest decline among small banks was observed at Ziraat Bank, which fell three positions.
The CERR ranking methodology is based on 27 indicators benchmarked against international standards, including Basel Committee requirements.
